Düsseldorf, 17 November 2008. The brand new BlackBerry Storm smartphone has arrived. Now's the time to share your good ideas because innovation leader, Vodafone, is launching an ideas contest for software developers in conjunction with the launch of the world's first smartphone with clickable touchscreen, the BlackBerry Storm. It is looking for new, intelligent and pioneering software for the Vodafone smartphone. The best entry will receive EUR 50,000 in prize money from Vodafone.
Now it's up to the software programmers - whether they're amateurs, inventors, technology freaks or frequent smartphone users - to send their ideas in to the Vodafone BlackBerry Storm contest. Anyone can take part and in addition to the EUR 50,000 prize money for the winner, the software will be made available to all users as a download in the Application Centre.
It's very easy to take part. Visit www.vodafone.de/storm where Vodafone is today programming a link so that anyone who is interested in taking part in contest can download the BlackBerry Java Development Environment for free. Then, they have until 30 April 2009 to develop innovative applications. A Vodafone expert jury will judge all the entries and the winner and two runners-up will be announced on 31 May 2009. First prize is EUR 50,000, second prize is EUR 15,000 and third prize is EUR 5,000.
