The BlackBerry Storm is now available with special Vodafone data flatrates
Düsseldorf, 17 November 2008. Vodafone is exclusive distributor of the first smartphone with a "clickable" touchscreen – the BlackBerry Storm. The smartphone has a full QWERTY keyboard on the screen to write e-mails with convenient touch technology and it loads websites onto the high-resolution display at HSDPA speed. It has built-in speakers for excellent music sound quality.
The BlackBerry® Storm™ has innovative touch screen technology for simple and accurate typing. The smartphone's 3.25 inch LCD colour display with 480x360 pixel resolution responds to finger pressure and gives tactile feedback. As a result, it supports the same single-touch, multi-touch and gestures for intuitive and efficient application navigation that you would use on a PC or laptop.
The BlackBerry Storm smartphone also features a built-in accelerometer, allowing its touch-screen to automatically switch between landscape mode and portrait mode as the user rotates the handset. A full virtual QUERTY keyboard that simplifies the process of writing e-mails is available in landscape mode. Incoming messages are automatically displayed on the screen. 3G broadband and a pre-installed HTML browser make the smartphone perfect for internet usage.
The BlackBerry Storm also has a built-in media player for mobile music entertainment. Its built-in speakers and the stereo headset that comes with the smartphone deliver music in excellent sound quality. The Storm has 1 GB of onboard memory storage and a microSD/SDHD memory card slot that supports up to 16 GB of additional storage.
BlackBerry Storm users will never lose their way in unfamiliar surroundings thanks to the Vodafone Navigator and an integrated GPS receiver, which only cost an extra 5 euro per month. A digital 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and a powerful flash round off the multimedia package.
The BlackBerry Storm is available for prices starting at EUR 1 in conjunction with a Vodafone term contract.
Vodafone is convinced that the BlackBerry Storm is going to be a resounding success. That's why it is offering a satisfaction guarantee to all customers who purchase a BlackBerry Storm by 15 December 2008. If the customer isn't satisfied with the smartphone, he can exchange it for any other mobile phone model within a 14 day period.
Vodafone has introduced three special data tariff options for the BlackBerry Storm which are optimised for e-mail and internet usage with the smartphone.
Vodafone customers have the choice of a range of flatrate services and additional monthly package prices of between EUR 2.95 and EUR 24.95. There's an internet messaging tariff option to satisfy every requirement. If the customer isn't sure about which option to choose he can use the Vodafone InternetMessaging StartAutomatik service for 30 days to send and receive e-mails, surf the net and send up to 500 text messages to all German networks free of charge. Then, Vodafone determines the InternetMessaging tariff option that is most suitable for the user's needs. Vodafone informs the customer about the tariff option which it has selected by text message. The customer than has another four weeks' time to decide whether to keep the tariff option or switch over to another one.
